El Barco

I captured this photograph during my first trip to Lanzarote when I stumbled upon this poetic landscape with a beautiful boat washed ashore at sunset. As the sun went down, I made the spontaneous decision to camp and spend the night there, feeling as though I was living in a dream looking at the beautiful clouds and sunset light.

I discovered that the boat was from Morocco, often caught in ocean storms, these boats occasionally reached the shore without people. This deepened my appreciation for the picture, highlighting its aesthetic beauty and the powerful human desire for freedom, regardless of the risks involved.
A year later, when I returned to revisit the place and I was surprised to find that the boat was no longer there. The powerful winter waves had swept it away, making my initial sunset and the moment I captured the image all the more unique and significant for me, frozen in time.

It serves as a reminder that moments that may seem static are, in fact, constantly evolving, and any photograph should be taken when we see and feel something significant, as anything is possible.
